My team and I are very experienced educators. I can say that most of my students despite their physical and cognitive challenges made measurable progress towards reasonable academic goals. All children are different. In addition to limitations, every child has their own set of skills, talents and interests that helps them progress if focused properly. It has been my experience that some children learn given academic skills when they are ready. Results will vary in any school and tutoring service. My goal is to invite children to prepare them selves as students aware of the skill set they currently possess, and what other tools they must further develop. In this way students are empowered to develop on their terms.

I am a veteran of the United States Navy as well as a veteran school teacher.
I am a retiree from the Chula Vista Elementary School District where I worked as a bilingual special education teacher for thirty years. I did work as an adjunct professor for Alliant International University under Chris Pilkington. I am looking for a challenge that will put to good use my academic and professional skill sets.
My teaching experience is varied. I have worked with children as young as preschool to adults in college. I have served as a bilingual (Spanish) teacher, both in general education and special education. I have worked as an adjunct professor at San Diego State University in the department of special education. I have worked for several years as an online adjunct professor at the National Hispanic University in teacher education, and as a Ph.D. and Ed.D. mentor for Walden University. Recently, I was an adjunct professor at Alliant International University in the department of education doctoral program where I taught both qualitative and qualitative research methodology as well as served as a methodologist in doctoral committees. I recently served as a special education student teacher and intern supervisor for National University. I am very experienced teaching in the classroom as well as in remote settings using Canvas, Moodle, Zoom, Blackboard, Brightspace, and Teams.
In the Navy I was responsible for operating and maintaining my ship’s missile system. In addition, I was responsible for writing and teaching various training modules for ship crews. I was tasked with maintaining positive crew behavior and high work quality.
In Schools I have planned and led staff development in the crucial areas required to address the needs of students: technology in classrooms, English language development, how to involve parents in school, and special education for the general education teacher. In my role as school site council president, and member of school leadership teams, I have helped develop intelligent, practical plans for success based on school performance data and effective current education research. I am very skilled in carefully matching resources to need for maximum effect. I am skilled in dealing with the concerns of students, parents, teachers, and administrators, leading discussions toward practical solutions that best meet the needs of the students we serve. I have assessed schools’ programs, current levels of academic performance, and discipline needs to plan high goals for students and school personnel. I am very experienced in establishing and meeting goals. My most rewarding experiences have been working with underperforming schools, children at risk, future teachers and teachers seeking advanced degrees.
I now turn my attention to helping as many children as I can meet their full academic and personal potential.
